Personalizing mental healthcare

Hello, my name is Elizabeth Baer and I am the founder of Baer Creek Counseling. Every person has unique reasons behind wanting to step into therapy. One of my goals is to make the process of starting therapy to be as simple and stress free as possible. Within this practice, I hope to facilitate an environment in which each person has the opportunity to come to know themselves more deeply, and to gradually step more fully into the individual they are and want to be, starting with where they are at.

Life moves in varied ways, often with old patterns of how people engage in the world showing up in new experiences. Similar to a spiral, where different events may bring familiar feelings from different distances. I believe that each person is fundamentally healthy and good, and that by finding out more about themselves and these patterns, people have the option to find healthy and sustainable ways to engage in the world and relationships.

The Small Print

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington state. My license number is LH61031011. I received my Masters of Arts in Counseling Psychology from the Seattle School of Theology and Psychology. I have worked within the mental health field in various roles since 2017 including providing therapy on an youth inpatient unit and providing wrap around services for families as an outpatient therapist. My  therapeutic approach is both therapeutic and  educational therefore I continue to pursue educational opportunities to enhance my skills and further my own growth.

Who I work with

I currently work with adults ages eighteen to forty-five. My ideal client is open to change, dedicated to themselves and chooses, even when it feels difficult, to show up for themselves each session. My hope is to support individuals as they are figuring out who they are and who they want to be in this world.

“When you are a young person, you are like a young creek, and you meet many rocks, many obstacles and difficulties on your way. You hurry to get past these obstacles and get to the ocean. But as the creek moves down through the fields, it becomes larger and calmer and it can enjoy the reflection of the sky. It's wonderful. You will arrive at the sea anyway so enjoy the journey. Enjoy the sunshine, the sunset, the moon, the birds, the trees, and the many beauties along the way.”
